Cleaning can be a strenuous experience that requires hours of freetime, or could otherwise result in unpaid overtime. Essentially, it all boils down to this question: who is responsible for cleaning the workplace?
More often than not, it’s the employees responsibility to clean their desk despite 85% of employers stating they have a professional cleaner. However, a staggering 85% of employees find themselves vacuuming, or cleaning their desk or the communal kitchen.
Despite the standards, most workplaces don’t have any strict cleaning procedures. In fact, the easiest way to ensure a clean workplace is to hire a professional with proper training and an efficient cleaning process. Our experienced team at Synserv will leave your property spotless with no room for error.
Our Cleaning Process
Step 1: Inspection of the Property
Before we arrive at the property, we will require a brief about the property size, service required, sector and risks. For example, a small factory handling harmful chemicals or dangerous machinery.
This will ensure we bring the right equipment, avoid accidents and can clean the property to your needs. However, we understand the property may appear different than advised when we see it for the first time.
Before any cleaning takes place, we we will identify the following:
- Any no-go areas
- Anyone remaining in the building while we clean
- Anything that could cause an accident or is blocking our way
- Cleaning regulations around your sector
- What needs cleaning
Step 2: Moving Obstacles
Our cleaning procedures may include moving obstacles. We don’t typically move or organise items, however, we may have to if it is blocking the space we need to clean or could cause an accident. For example, we may be able to move:
- Portable chairs
- Small sofas
- Small to medium tables and desks
- Light boxes (parcels, etc)
- Rugs
- Small plants, heaters, fans and lamps
- Office equipment (computers, keyboards, phones, etc)
Step 3: Cleaning the Premises
Depending on the size of your premises, a regular clean could take one hour, a deep clean three hours, and a specialised clean five hours.
Once we have a good understanding of where and what to clean, our cleaning process will commence, including:
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming all floors and stairs
- Dusting corners, behind furniture, decorations and blinds
- Wiping railings, table, desks (and chairs depending on the material)
- Wiping the inside of windows and opening them for better ventilation
- Wipe and dust electrical items (PCs, monitors, etc)
- Full bathroom clean (sinks, toilets, etc)
- Full kitchen clean (coffee maker, oven, etc)
- Emptying bins
- Disinfecting certain areas
We can also accommodate extra tasks, such as stocking items provided they are accessible and easy to manage. This includes:
- Loading plates into the dishwasher
- Washing the dishes and putting them away
- Removing expired food and drink
- Restocking soap and toilet paper
- Changing hand towels and the water unit
Step 4: Quality Check
Once we have cross-checked our list, we will complete one final quality check to ensure your premises have been efficiently cleaned. If we can’t clean a certain area, we will arrange another time to clean it.
For instance, an unsafe area inhabited by harmful chemicals, damp or an animal infestation. We are typically not equipped to resolve these issues and will never put our employees at risk to try. However, if you require a different professional service, we will advise you on your next steps.
